President’s Message

Dr. Eppie Manalo, PhD

Dear AWESNA alumni and friends. It has been a Herculean task navigating through the challenges 2020 has posed. But God, our Leader, has proven true to His promise in Isaiah 43:2 (NIV)—“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” We grieve over the passing away of some of our beloved members this year and we continue to pray for their families. But despite our pain, we praise God for allowing us to be His instruments in fulfilling our mission to assist our dear alma mater, especially at this time of dire need; and be His “heart and hands” to those adversely affected by Covid-19— our dear AUP workers and working students. We are not “out of the woods” yet, but we face 2021 boldly, confident that God, who has been faithful to us, will lead the way. Leaving behind all the unpleasant experiences we may have had and forgiving each other as God has forgiven us, we face the new year, aware that Christ’s coming is near. Let us move forward with God’s marching order to “…love one another…” (John 13:34) and “…not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9. Have a safe Christmas and a year of precious blessings and unwavering commitment to God’s service through AWESNA!
