Endowment Fund

Plans & Strategies

Goal: To raise funds for the Endowment Fund and increase awareness of alumni members all over the world regarding the needs of our Alma Mater, activities of AWESNA and its chapters

Plan A

To create an AWESNA Endowment Fund Website

a. As a source of information of AWESNA Endowments Fund Activities, plans, accomplishments, etc.

b. As a source of funds as follows:

1. Advertisements from businesses and professionals promoting their products and services.

2. Donations for the Endowment Fund through Pledges. A Pledge Card or equivalent will be designed.

A committee will be formed to establish guidelines, policies, fees, etc.

Date of Implementation: ASAP

Plan B

To create an advertisement brochure promoting the Endowment Fund and a solicitation letter

a. Mail these brochures to all PUC/AUP Alumni and friends.

b. Mail these brochures to SDA businesses, professionals, philanthropists, etc.

Date of Implementation: ASAP

Plan C

To create an office of Independent Endowment Fund Raiser

a. To solicit funds for the Endowment and to be compensated on a commission basis. Suggested commission rate: 20% of every dollar raised. The Independent Endowment Fund Raiser will develop a plan and strategy and implementation to present to the committee. All expenses of the Independent Endowment Fundraiser are solely his/her own except for the brochures, etc. which will be provided by Endowment Fund Committee.

b. A committee will be formed to establish policies, qualification of the office of Independent Fund Raiser, hiring and termination, etc.

c. This committee will oversee the official acceptance of any donations solicited. It can be called “Gift Acceptance Committee.”

d. We can hire at least 2 to 3 individuals as Independent Endowment Fundraiser to solicit funds. They will be paid on a commission basis of 20% of every dollar

raised. This plan will be implemented ASAP after full evaluation of the program is completed

A contract will be signed between the AWESNA President, Endowment Chair and the Independent Fund Raiser. A contract will be drawn up by an Attorney.

e. The Independent Fundraiser will be under the direct supervision of the Endowment Fund Committee and AWESNA President.

f. They shall solicit funds solely from businesses, companies, professional services, conventions, camp meetings, philanthropists, acquaintances, friends and relatives. They shall not solicit from illegal businesses, gambling establishments, manufacturers of tobaccos and liquors, firearms and others not consistent with our Christian beliefs.

Rational:

By hiring an Independent Endowment Fundraiser on a commission basis, the person will have a vested interest in the promotion of the Endowment Fund, as he or she can only be compensated by raising funds. For too long, we’ve been relying on volunteers to raise funds for the endowment. I believe that by going on this route we will have a better chance of success and in no time will we reach our goal of a million dollars.

As we implement Plan C, we will also venture into Trusts and Wills acceptance. We will need a person knowledgeable in this field. As Wills matures, these funds will also go to the Endowment Fund. We will also receive donations of personal property such as cars, boats, yachts, stocks, etc. and convert them into cash. Date of Implementation: 3 to 6 months.

Plan D

To promote the Endowment Fund Committee’s plans to all Chapters of AWESNA.

Plan E

Appeal to AWESNA Officers, Chairpersons and Board Members to donate an amount of their choice to the Endowment Fund payable within the duration of their term of

Office.
